DESCRIPTION:Time TBD\n“Protecting the Final Frontier”\nMajor Sam McEvoy\, UK Space Command \nSpace is a congested and competitive domain. Hazards in space range from space weather to space debris. The space domain also includes a growing range of threats\, including nefarious activity from hostile and irresponsible actors seeking to maximise their advantage in the space domain. \nBased in Buckinghamshire and staffed by Royal Navy\, British Army and Royal Air Force\, alongside civil servants and contractors\, UK Space Command’s mission is to work with allies and partners around the world to make space safe\, secure\, and sustainable for all generations. \nhttps://www.raf.mod.uk/what-we-do/uk-space-command/ \nMajor Sam McEvoy is a serving UK Army officer and lifelong Trekkie who is currently working at UK Space Command. A devout technophile\, his career has included such areas as Space\, Artificial Intelligence\, and Quantum Computing for UK Defence. \n  \nThe Sol Speaker Series features guest presenters who will cover a wide range of inspiring and informative topics on space\, astronomy\, astrophotography\, the Artemis mission\, stargazing\, and tons more! These events are presented via Zoom beginning at 7 pm EST/EDT and includes a 45-minute talk followed by a Q and A session. You must register for each event to receive the Zoom link\, simply send an email to capt.barbbarton@gmail.com and put “Sol” in the subject line and include your SCC# in the body of the email. \nThe link will be sent out the day before the event \nThe event will be recorded and posted on SFI’s YouTube page.
